OUR STORY

Way back In 1915, Australia was a different place. It was in that year that Australian soldiers landed at what is now called Anzac Cove on the Gallipoli Peninsula. It was in that year that Billy Hughes became the seventh Prime Minister of Australia and the first to serve consecutive terms in office. And it was that very same year that a little butcher shop first opened at 65 Waratah Street in Haberfield.

For over 107 years now, the butchery has helped serve up dinner for the vibrant local community. In 2021 the torch was passed on, and The Haberfield Butchery was born; a new face honouring old traditions.

At The Haberfield Butchery, we pride ourselves on being a whole beast butcher. Retaining our original open-plan store design, everything we do is in front of you, our customers, allowing you to see the care and consideration we put into your dinner.

We serve only the finest cuts and we make our sausages on site. The award-winning authentic gourmet Italian sausages that Mario’s Quality Meats had been selling for over twenty years are still available, and The Haberfield Butchery plans to stay your neighbourhood butcher for many years to come.
